My Story

I began my career in physiotherapy in 1991, working within a hospital physiotherapy department before qualifying as a physiotherapist in 2002. My early years were spent specialising in respiratory care within the NHS, where I built a strong foundation in patient rehabilitation and recovery. Over time, my interest naturally shifted toward women’s health — particularly after the birth of my own children, when I saw firsthand how important postnatal recovery truly is.

Twenty years ago, after experiencing a Caesarean birth following a forceps delivery the previous year, I realised how little support and guidance many women receive during recovery. When I later experienced symptoms of both incontinence and prolapse, I gained an even deeper awareness of the physical and emotional challenges women face. Managing these changes — including using a pessary and undergoing pelvic surgery — gave me firsthand insight into the realities of pelvic health recovery and the difference specialist care can make.

In 2018, I took the leap to start my own practice, later leaving the NHS to dedicate myself fully to women’s pelvic health. Since then, I’ve completed extensive training in postnatal rehabilitation, prolapse management, bladder and bowel health, scar and visceral therapy, pelvic pain, and holistic well-being.
Through navigating perimenopause in my late 30s and reaching menopause at 47, I’ve developed an even greater understanding of how our bodies shift over time — and the need for tailored, ongoing support beyond the postnatal years. The physical and hormonal changes of this stage reinforced how essential it is for women to have access to open, compassionate, and informed care throughout life’s transitions.

Today, my work focuses on empowering women to feel strong, confident, and in control of their health. I know how daunting these challenges can feel, but with the right knowledge, understanding, and guidance, there is always a way forward.
